Welcome to A Round Around Japan!

Welcome to A Round Around Japan — a golf journey across Japan, one course at a time.

I’m a foreign golfer living in Japan, fluent in Japanese, and passionate about exploring the country through golf. The goal of this site is not to show perfect golf. It is to show real, relatable golf in Japan: the courses, the travel, the people, the scenery, the clubhouse lunches, the good shots, the bad shots, and the occasional ball saved by the forest fairies.

Japan has an incredible variety of golf courses. Some are deep in the mountains, some are close to the city, some are narrow enough to make every tee shot feel like a life decision, and many come with a proper lunch break that can save even the toughest scorecard.

Through this blog and the YouTube videos, I’ll be sharing each round as honestly as possible. Every course is new, every round has a story, and every mistake is part of the experience.

Expect course visits, travel notes, local golf culture, food, strategy, lucky breaks, and plenty of golf that real players can relate to.

New course. Local golfers. Real, relatable golf.

The first round is coming soon.
